"Niimiyatoohk (Dancing Together)" Original Acrylic Painting
"Niimiyatoohk" (Michif for "Dancing Together" is a more whimsical piece, featuring two black bears danging together in the snow. Bears represent courage and my colour palette was designed to represent queer sexuality, magic, and art. I feel that in todays world, it is corageous to celebrate and honour all aspects of ones' self and spirit and this piece was one that I found very healing and energizing to create.
This painting is highly textured, and comes in a custom-painted wooden frame designed to compliment the piece. This piece also does have a neon colour which will fade over time. This colour is strategically placed atop of a similar pink that is more lightfast, so even as the neon fades, it will remain similar in colour to preserve the moode of the piece. I still recommend keeping it away from direct sunlight to slow down the process and further preserve the piece.
The painting is on canvas board and is 11X14 inches, but with the frame it is approx. 15X19 inches. The frame is equipped with a sawtooth hanger and ready o be installed on a wall.
