"Evelyn's First Baby" Original Acrylic Painting
"Evelyn's First Baby" is a painting I made to honour the memory of my great grandmother, Evelyn Boyer (Caron). Evelyn was born and raised in Batoche, growing up in the farmhouse that is preserved at the historic site and known commonly as the "Caron" home. She is holding her first baby, my great uncle Alcide in this photo. I custom painted the frame to emulate the colours of the Caron house, with gorgeous green trim and white plaster covering it. The upper level features wood siding that looks similar to my frame. The photo my painting is based off of was taken on the front porch of the Caron home, a porch I have gone on to take many pictures on myself as have many of the other Caron descendents.
This piece is quite small, at 5X7 inches and can be displayed on a tabletop or shelf as it has a kickstand back. It also has a sawtooth hanger, for quick and easy installation on a wall.
